“Do all the good you can,
By all the means you can,
In all the ways you can,
In all the places you can,
At all the times you can,
To all the people you can,
As long as ever you can.”
~ John Wesley

Wild foraging for Brambles
On the weekend, at the suggestion of our youngest,
we went wild foraging for blackberries.
These are the first ripe ones that we have seen here
and they were plump juicy and delicious.
Although very late in ripening.
We created natural magenta highlights
in our hair
We had magenta
everywhere
We collected enough
for a dessert with cream.
Heavenly foraging.
Labels:
blackberries,
blackberry,
bramble,
forage,
wild
I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.
